This collection of hundreds of soft sculptured dolls created by Annalee
Thorndike is set against a backdrop of dioramas depicting New Hampshire scenes.

Bretton Woods Summer Park

An open air quad chairlift is the centerpiece of the park, carrying visitors
from the base lodge to a mountain-top restaurant which serves lunch and dinner.
A shuttle van is also available for ground transportation to the restaurant.
Mountain bikers can also use the chairlift to take their bikes to
the mountain-top, then ride down a variety of trails and slopes.

Castle Springs

Tour the eccentric millionaire Thomas Plant's mansion, Castle in the Clouds,
and experience the magnificent view of the Lakes Region from horseback.
You can see the natural source of Castle Springs Water, and tour the bottling factory.
Admission charged.

Conway Scenic Railroad
North Conway, 356-5251

Depart from the circa-1874 railroad station in the village for a nostalgic train
ride and panoramic views of the Mountains Region. Trains leave daily for
round trip to Bartlett, Conway and the breathtaking venture to Crawford Notch;
all-round trip. Lunch and dinner are served in the elegant dining car and several
special events are planned.

Golden Pond Tours
Squam Boats Dock, Route 3, Holderness, 279-4405

Travel by pontoon boat on a guided tour of "Golden Pond," and listen to the
captain's anecdotes about the making of the film. He'll point out the elusive loons
and share the folklore of Squam Lake.

Great Bay Pottery

Haunted Castles of Brentwood

The Haunted Castles of Brentwood offer a frightfully fun haunted house
designed for all ages with no blood or gore. In September tours are daily from
1-5 pm and are $4 for adults and $3 for children under 12. In October tours are 1-5 pm
and weekend nights and are $8 for adults and $6 for children under 12.

Heritage New Hampshire

Experience first hand 350 years of American history depicted in exhibits,
photographs, animated characters of those that help shape this country, laid out around
a nearly 2,000 foot walkway. The exhibit is handicapped accessible. Open daily.

Mill Brook Gallery & Sculpture Garden

A welcomed new addition to N.E.'s art community. The Gallery hosts outstanding
works by well-known artists, including John Jacobsmeyer, Liz Fletcher, Bob Murphy,
Kim Wintje, Peter Dudley, Jane Kaufmann, John Weidman, Christopher Gowell,
and many more. Open from 11 am to 5 pm daily, or by appointment.

Mill at Loon Mountain

Several special events are scheduled this season at the mill in this resort village:
horse-drawn wagon rides, White Mountains Outdoor Expo with exhibits, workshops for

M.S. Mount Washington

You haven't seen Lake Winnipesaukee until you've seen it from the decks of this
230-foot cruise ship. Dinner cruises offer live entertainment and dancing.

Mt. Washington Auto Road

Guided tours available or travel this spectacular mountain roadway on your own.
A stop at the Observatory Museum offers visitors an exhibit of rare arctic flowers
as well as historic points of interest on Mount Washington. Fee charged.

Mt. Washington Cog Railway

Take the 3 hour scenic ride to the summit of Mt. Washington on the only
cog railway powered solely by steam. Fee charged.

This grand hotel is nestled at the foot of the the Presidential Range, with 27-hole
PGA golf, red clay tennis courts, horseback riding, outdoor pools, children's programs and

Nestlenook Farm

This enchanting 65 acre Victorian estate offers horsedrawn carriage rides.
Highlights include feeding the deer in Emerald Forest and the crossing of Nestlenook's
trademark 70' arched bridge. Reservations are recommended for the carriage rides.
New this year is trout fishing in Emerald Lake, which is fully stocked for the fisherman's
enjoyment. Rental equipment is available. Call ahead for hours and rates.

Pirates Cove Adventure Golf

Polar Caves Park

Take a self-guided tour of six natural glacial caves, and visit the Sugar Museum and gift shop.
It is said that centuries ago, ferocious, prehistoric deer heads lived in these very caves.

Science Center of New Hampshire on Squam Lake

This 200-acre science center offers woodland and lake excursions, live animal programs,
bird watching, star gazing and a host of informative and fun programs through October.

Squam Lake Tours on Golden Pond

Captain Joe Nassar takes visitors on his all-weather pontoon boat to see where
the award-winning movie, "On Golden Pond" was filmed. See Church Island
and the LOONS as part of the cruise. Special tours leave from Nassar's residence on
Squam Lake, May through October.

Story Land

Fairy tales can come true and it can happen to you at this fun-filled theme park
now celebrating more than 40 years in operation in the exquisite Mountains Region.
Meet Humpty Dumpty and the Three Little Pigs, venture on an African safari, ride

Wildcat Mountain

A gondola ride takes visitors up to Wildcat's 4000-foot summit and offers a close-up
view of N.H.'s Presidential mountain range. Visitors are welcome to explore the area at
their leisure. Deck chairs, view finders and picnic tables are provided. At the base,
visitors will find picnic tables, a snack bar and gift shop. Admission charged.

Winnipesaukee Kayak
